The Bobo people live in eastern Burkina Faso, where they cultivate millet and cotton, and raise cattle. These farmers are regulated by a council of elders. Their artwork includes cast bronze pendants and large carved wooden masks. The masks symbolize animals or spirits and are worn during ceremonies associated with new crops, initiations and funerals.
