1971 C.F. Martin acoustic 6-string 000-18 model guitar, made in Nazareth, PA, serial #274075. It has a mahogany back, sides, and neck with natural finish, a spruce top, and the standard Grover tuners. The body is edged with tortoise binding.
C.F. Martin & Company is an American guitar manufacturer established in 1833, by Christian Frederick Martin. It is highly respected for its acoustic guitars and is a leading manufacturer of flat top guitars. The company has also made mandolins and as well as several models of electric guitars and electric basses, although none of these instruments are currently in production.
The company’s headquarters and primary factory are situated in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, located in the Lehigh Valley region of the state. The building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018, includes the Martin Guitar Museum, which features over 170 guitars made by the company over its history.
