This King “Silver Tone” Cornet made by The H.N. White Co., Cleveland Ohio, was owned and played by “Big B” Brian Casserly. A professional musician since the age of fourteen, Brian has played for many of the greats in the music business, including Tony Bennett, Tex Beneke, Stan Kenton, Chuck Berry, Johnny Johnson, and even Tiny Tim. He has played the prestigious Monterey Pops Festival and Ascona Switzerland Jazzfest. In 1990, he joined St. Louis’s top Blues Band, the Soulard Blues Band. Brian Casserly, a native of New York, who has called St. Louis ‘home’ for the past 35 years, and Tom Tucker formed “Cornet Chop Suey,” a band that has become the NUMBER ONE Jazz festival band across the country. Pictured alongside his cornet is one of Brian’s favorite hats, seen on the cover of some of his CDs.
