This vintage early 1980’s hand crafted Jethro Burns ‘F Style’ mandolin is in the Washburn tradition of those made in Chicago, with a solid spruce top and maple sides and back. It displays gold hardware and beautiful bindings with inlays on the neck. In-scripted on the bridge is ‘Jethro Burns.’
Charles ‘Jethro’ Burns (1920-1989) was an American Famous Mandolinist. He was known as “The Legend,” “Mr. Mandolin”, and the “World’s Greatest Mandolin Player,” during his lifetime influencing countless players. Burns was also one-half of the famous comedy duo, Homer and Jethro with Henry D. “Homer” Haynes.
