A contemporary twisted sculpture of a string cello by Rick McIntyre (American, 20th century). This modern sculpture is constructed from white painted resin with bold black accents featuring stylized f-holes and three string-like cords. It evokes influences of Cubism and is infused with a 1980s postmodern style known as Memphis design as it combines musical inspiration with geometric modernism.
Rick McIntyre has been making a living in the advanced composite industry, building carbon fiber catamarans and kit aircrafts. He is a former professional hang glider and windsurfer who grew up in Alaska.
