This August Schulz (1871-1926 CE) guitar has three metal and three nylon strings, with 21 metal frets. There are six mechanized tuning pegs with black acrylic grips. The shape of the body is unique with angled cut-aways on both sides and on top are the angular sound holes adjacent to the cut-aways. The bridge is black with long protruding stylized ends, and each of the fine-tuning knobs has mother-of-pearl inlay. There is also mother-of-pearl inlay dots on the fretboard and on the side of the neck for reference.
The top of the instrument is made of spruce, while the back and the sides of the body show a beautiful darker marble stain. The fretboard and head are both made of ebony. The angular sound holes each are trimmed with double rolls of light color purfling, while the top and back are framed with black trim plus a double roll of light color purfling on the top side.
