A primitive Kenya Lute (guitar). Possibly made by the Kamba or Akamba people, a Bantu ethnic group who predominantly live in the area of Kenya stretching from Nairobi to Tsavo and north to Embu, of Kenya
It features a figurative head with facial scarification at the top with four pegs, each with a fiber string. The base/bottom is completely wrapped in leather and sinew seams. Shows a dark aged patina.
