Free Reed

Free Reed involves the air-stream (generated by breath or a bellow) being directed against a lamella (reed tongue), setting it in periodic vibration through a closely fitted slot (reed is slightly  smaller than framed slot).  Examples may include:  mouthorgan, accordion, or reed organ.
