Anklet bells with multiple pellets, were used by people from Ghana and this example, was made by the Akan, an ethnic group of Ghana and the Ivory Coast in West Africa. The bells were cast from brass and feature hallow pellets decorated with spirals. Each pallet was attached to cloth and tied to the ankles with rattan rope. They were used for dancing.
