Aerophone – Edge-blown – Flute/Whistle
This Bamileke flute has a distinctive flared shape at the bottom. It is worn around the neck by looping twine and treading it through the two holes at the bottom, thus, it hangs upside down when not in use. There are two finger holes used to alter the pitch when played and to send signals and messages, as the African languages are tonal. This flute shows usage and age.
