Identified as a “F” Bent (Bell) Baritone Horn by John Wenzl – Engraved on bell trim: “Instrumentemacher in Braunau, Bohmen” [known as Broumov, Czech Republic]. Broumov is a town in the Náchod District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic, near the border with Poland.
This is a three rotary valve baritone horn with a music lyre attached to the bell and tubing, as a support to the bell bent to the left, and serves as a decorative piece. The instrument maker, John Wenzl, is dated in the 2nd half of the 19th century (The New Langwill Index, p. 424)
