A Hanoverian bugle horn (semicircular) with a leather harness and inscription stamped on the brass garland. The Prussian bugle horn, with its half-moon-shape, was later adopted by the Electorate of Hanover and is referred to as the ‘Hanoverian bugle horn’ as it was used by the Hanoverian forces in 1758. It was the original military bugle introduced in Germany during the Seven Years’ War (1756-1763) as a distinctive instrument for Jager battalions and other light troops.
