This Buddhist temple bell is hung high on an elaborate stand with rectangular base and claw feet. The base features two seated lion figures, while the sides and crossbeam of the stand is decorated with a Greek key design, a pattern that is also ubiquitous in Chinese art. The top of the stand features a two-headed dragon facing out on either side. The bell hanging from a small metal hook, is slightly flared with an overall cylindrical profile, and is encircled with three rows of bosses. A vertical band between the rows of bosses and just below the bottom row of bosses show engraved script. On top of the bell, as though holding the hook, are two Buddhist lions. The bell and stand show age with patination in several places.
