A ceremonial footed drum (ngoma) of the Chokwe people of Central Africa. Displaying eight (8) carved ancestral faces in high relief on the body resonator and legs. The word ngoma means drum in many cultures across Africa. The drum head is tacked on by handmade nails and it is apparent the drum head has be replaced several times with numerous nail holes.. The drum is carved from one piece of wood and shows signs of usage and age.
