Dogon Standing “ngombo” with “nommo” – This figurative lute comes from the Dogon culture of Mali, West Africa. It reveals very detailed and elaborate carved wood with elaborate female ancestor on body of instrument, shown kneeling and holding the body with her arms, with other Dogon tribal motifs throughout. The Instrument has four nylon strings and leather rings to adjust the tension, over an animal hide covered chamber.
