Miscellaneous Lutes

Miscellaneous lutes include plucked and bowed string instruments that may have a combination of characteristics making it difficult to put in one of the groupings above.  They may also include European folk instruments such as the ‘gusle’ a bowed fiddle from the Balkan Peninsula or the ‘kobza,’ a plucked lute from the Ukraine.
