This was my very first historical/vintage instrument to purchase. I was simply out looking at garage sales for baby clothes in my neighborhood for my young children, when I found it.  As a high school band director at the time, I was fascinated with the instrument and it became the beginning of my passion for collecting musical instruments.

Anton Braun brass flugelhorn with silver bell trim. There are 3-rotary valves, the original pigtail lead-in pipe and a MPC. The workshop of Anton Braun senior (1877-1927) was founded in 1896 in the Austro-Hungarian city of Temesvár / Temeswar. This city is in the Banat, a historical region of Hungary, today split between Hungary, Romania and Serbia.  In Romania, it is the third largest city and the gate to West Europe.

Anton Braun Sr. and his older brother (Johannes) hand-crafted various instruments. In particular, the violin which his brother learned to build from his father and the C.W. Richter workshop.  In 1928, after the passing of Anton Braun Sr., his son, Anton Michael Braun (1911-1978) took over the business.
