This edge-blown flute has a horizontal headjoint tubing in brass with nearly an 180 degree U-bend followed by a right angle bend leading to the vertical one joint wooden body of the flute.  This type of flute headjoint is patent and known as the Wünnenberg system.  The embouchure mechanism consists of boxwood, the same as the body.  There are six finger holes and a brass dome key. The end of the instrument as well as the pipe connecting the head to the body of the instrument are also made of brass. There is a thumb rest on the back side of the instrument, attached with a small screw.
