For over 100 years the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company was one of America’s largest musical instrument manufacturers and distributors. Wurlitzer Style 125 Military Band Organ, made in North Tonawanda, New York, was popular in skating rinks and carousels across America, circa 1906-1920s. It has been electrified and consists of sixteen brass bells/trumpets, sixteen flute/whistles, snare drum, bass drum, cymbal, and xylophone. The bellows are operated by an electric pump in the bottom. It uses piano rolls, which serve as a music storage medium. The paper rolls are a continuous roll of paper with perforations (holes) punched into them. These perforations represent note control data, in which a reading system known as a ‘tractor bar,’ triggers various notes to be played as it is read. In excellent working condition. #931440230
