The jungga is a traditional 2-string plucked zither from the Island of Sumba, Indonesia. It is carved from one piece of wood (both body and neck) and has 5 square finger posts that serve as frets. The two strings (melody and drone) are tuned by friction pegs on both sides of the head. The back is glued and nailed closed with three small sound holes. It is played with a plectrum and is mainly used to accompany secular and love songs.
