Top blown bulbous flutes from the Mossi play an important part as a hunter’s flute and are also used in mask dances. They imitate the tones and language patterns of the local languages and give voice to a mask. Hand carved from a single piece of wood, with groove decoration and two finger holes for pitch changes. Usage traces and a nice patina.
