Native American (possibly Osage) buffalo horn rattle. The double horn rattle was often used to accompany dancing. The handle is completely wrapped with thick Buffalo rawhide sewn with sinew lacing along with glass beads on top of a wooden handle core. A set of four metal bells are attached directly under the horns for creating the rhythmic sounds to accompany the storytelling and dancing through which myths and legends are passed down. Here, generations learn through storytelling, the close relationship that indigenous people have with the natural and spirit world.
