A multi-creature wooden rattle in Tlingit-style by Rich LaValle. This globular rattle is hand-carved in low-relief style and hand-painted using a palette of red, blue, and black hues. It is constructed from two halves that have been glued together and the handle is wrapped in leather strips. The interior is filled with percussive seeds or pebbles.
This rattle was made by Rich LaValle, a wood carver, who was adopted by the George family of Angoon (Tlingit). His Tlingit name is Kut Daa Jaa Gu.
