This ancestral (anthropomorphic) figural altar bell comes from Cameroon. Traditional stylized features of the Tikar artisans are seen in the facial features of bulging eyes, placement and design of ears, and geometric body markings.  Signs of usage.  This most likely represents an ancestor and was used in rituals.  The main Tikar towns are Bankim, Ngambe Tikar, and Maba.
