Mister Rogers Neighborhood was an American half-hour educational children’s television series that ran from 1968 to 2001 and was created and hosted by Fred Rogers.  The program/series is aimed primarily at preschool children ages 2 to 5, but it was labelled by PBS as “appropriate for all ages”

This 1977 Mr. Rogers Fred Neighborhood Toy Trolley is complete and in excellent condition.   As the wheels turn it plays the theme song/music.  Standing by the toy trolley are later versions of friends of Mr. Rogers, who had “a wide variety of interest and talents who care about and learn from each other.”

Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003) was also a musician who earned a music composition degree from Rollins College in 1951. He wrote over 200 songs. In 1962 he graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a bachelor’s degree in divinity and became a Presbyterian minister in 1963.  He next attended the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Child Development, where he began his 30-year collaboration with child psychologist Margaret McFarland.
