Possibly a Ganda (Baganda, Waganda) trumpet from Uganda / Sudan trumpet, who speak a Bantu language, called Ganda, or Luganda, of the Benue-Congo group.   In the historic kingdom of Buganda (now part of Uganda) trumpet sets were commonly used to transmit verbal praises of chiefs and rulers and to serve for signaling. Used in an ensemble they were played in a hocket fashion.  This large trumpet has a pointed knob on the top and a round mouthpiece on the side.   It was held horizontal when played by buzzing the lips into the side mouthpiece hole.
