The lokanga voatavo is a small stick zither attached to a gourd from Madagascar. It consists of a gourd, three wire strings, and a black painted wooden stick with three frets and three pegs.  It can also be found on the mainland of Africa as tzetze or zeze, or as dzendzé ya shitsuva on the Comoros islands.
