This Polish folk fiddle locally called ‘złóbcoki,’ has a back plate, decorative trimmed ribs, neck and pegbox carved from one piece of wood; with a polygonal body.  There are four strings and a flat fingerboard.  These fiddles were used in the Podhale region before the violin became popular there.  Today they are used in their folk revival.
