A Kenya gourd rattle with flatted metal soda cap discs that serve as the sistrums mounted by wire in two rows on a “Y” shaped tree limb that is inserted into a small gourd (possibly Matamba fruit shell) that has burnt geometric designs. Animal hair trims the connection between the stem of the limb and the gourd. This rattle resembles the ancient sistrum rattles found in Egypt. It show usage and age.
