The Kotoko claim ancestry to the Sao people, one of the oldest iron working cultures in West Africa. This Kotoko warrior wears a detailed wrapped headdress and is cast in bronze. It possibly served as a small funerary memorial bell.  The top Kotoko warrior is modeling the gesture for prayer with arms to the side and palm of hands held upward.
